Kick Starting Christmas
Sunday 20 December 2026 11am - 4pm. (Ride at 1pm)
We are a bunch of over excited bikers who meet up every year to have a laugh and raise a bit of money for charity at the same time. This event is run all over the country which makes the public smile. The people of Porthcawl get right behind us and are more excited than we are. Our route takes us to most of the care homes in Porthcawl to get more smiles and happiness.
Donations: £5 a person and anything you want to donate. Please donate online
Have fun jazzing up your bikes and look forward to seeing you on the day.

There are many occasions when the second man drop-off system may be used when riding as a group. The main thing to consider is how you intend to stay together as a group.
Some group rides just want to go out for a ride and don’t mind if people get lost or split up. Other groups want the whole group to stay together at all costs and make sure nobody gets lost or separated on their ride.
Whatever approach is used, all group members must be made aware of the way that is intended to ride as a group. If “second man drop-off” is being used, all riders must be aware how it works and what their role will be.
Everyone should know the group’s strategy and there should be a destination or meeting place agreed prior to departing. A briefing should be delivered to all group members to tell them the important aspects of the ride. Riders should know the intended route and where intermediate meeting places may be, what to do if they are separated and how to meet up again on such occasions.

What we do
In our hospice, and in Welsh communities and family homes, we are here to care for the children and young people who need us, helping to make their short lives as full as they can be and, when the time comes, provide end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement care. Our specialist support also extends to parents, siblings and other family members, offering personalised support to give them strength, make treasured memories together and improve their quality of life.
Our ambition
When a family is caring for a child whose life will be short, they often face a daily struggle without the care and support they need. At the moment, 90% of families in Wales whose child’s life will be short are not receiving the support they need. This should not be allowed to happen.
Our ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own. We believe that every family should have access to the care they need through life, death and beyond. We know this is a big ambition and we know it won’t be easy, but we believe that together we can make sure that no family in Wales faces their child’s short life on their own.
